Caring For Your Leather Boots

!: Caring For Your Leather Boots

You've paid good money for those perfect leather boots, you're thrilled with the way they look and feel and they're so comfortable you want to wear them all day, every day. These boots are going to go through every kind of punishment the elements and real life can throw at them. So how do you keep them looking as if they've just come out of the box for the first time?

The beauty of leather is that it develops its own patina as it ages. It's an organic material that stretches and shapes to your contours, fitting literally like a second skin. But in exactly the same way as your own skin will look dull and tired if you don't care for it, so will leather. It needs that occasional bit of tender loving care to keep it looking in top condition. The most obvious way to keep your boots looking perfect is to polish them regularly. Not only will this improve the look of your boots and protect them from scuffmarks, but it will also help to weatherproof the surface of the leather and shield them from the elements.

If you really want to make sure your boots will be as water-resistant as possible, invest in a tin of dubbin. This is a traditional leather 'feed' made from natural wax, oil and tallow and is used to soften, condition and waterproof leather. It's different from shoe polish as it does not contain any pigment, so if you want to restore the colour of your boots, a good buff with corresponding shoe polish will restore the beauty of the leather whilst the dubbin will add a protective layer to the surface. Treat your boots regularly with this and you'll find that the surface retains its shine and your feet stay dry, even in reasonably heavy rain.

If you've invested good money in a pair of quality leather boots, a worthwhile addition is a pair of boot 'trees'. These simple devices slot into your boots when you're not wearing them, maintaining their shape and preventing them from sagging and creasing when not in use.

There are different types of leather that may not be suitable for polishing or using leather feed products like dubbin. Patent leather is best cared for using a soft polishing cloth. Marks on the surface can be removed by gently rubbing with a damp cloth and then buffing the leather back to its original shine with a soft, dry cloth. Try to avoid using kitchen cloths, as the surface of these is much more abrasive than you realise and may leave permanent marks on the leather.

Some boots are designed using 'antique' leather. This is designed to have a worn or 'aged' look and dark or light marks can usually be removed by gently rubbing the leather with a soft cloth. Avoid using harsh brushes, as the bristles will scratch the surface of the leather, damaging the skin and leaving permanent marks.

As with your own skin, leather is easily damaged by direct heat, so never try to dry your boots out with a direct heat source such as a hairdryer. The surface of the leather will shrink from the hide, causing it to crack and leading to permanent damage to the surface. Alternatively, extreme cold can also make the leather brittle and susceptible to cracking, so try to protect your leather boots from extreme temperature changes.

If you take care of your leather boots they should last you for many years to come, making them a permanent addition to your wardrobe and giving you years of comfort, protection and style.

Frye Carson Riding Boot - Equestrian Western Boot For Women

!: Frye Carson Riding Boot - Equestrian Western Boot For Women

The Frye Carson Riding boot is a recent addition to the women's Frye boot collection and is part of a growing collection of women's western style boots - but this boot is different than any other boots I've seen.

About the Carson Riding Boot - I have noticed a recent trend in the Frye collection for various popular styles of boots to be combined. An example of this is the Frye Carson Harness with the combination of western style and a harness boot - both of which are very hot looks these days and the combination of the two looks only adds to the appeal of the boots. Now the new riding boot available among the Carson women's boot collection has provided women with the combination of "cowboy" and "riding" - i.e., equestrian style boots with quite a tall boot shaft (15.5" - 16"), tall enough to rise above the knee for many women.

This boot has a classic pull-on style as well as luxuriously soft leather - and is known not only for being quite stylish but very comfortable as well, especially for a western style boot.

Pricing and Shopping: The retail price of the Frye Carson Riding boot is around 0 per pair. Since (as of this writing) they are just newly released it might be a bit tricky to find them for lower, marked down prices but as time goes on I am sure that discounts and sales will come to the surface. However, for women who appreciate the highest quality craftsmanship and the ultimate in style and comfort, the price may be well worth it!

Wide Width Cowboy Boots

!: Wide Width Cowboy Boots

Wide width cowboy boots are considered ideal for those persons with wide foot. It is comfortable footwear that provides protection to toes. Wide width boots come in the market with markings such as EW, E, EE, EEE, and W. These markings simply represent the width needed in boots and vary with different leg sizes. Boots with standard width have B markings for women and D for men.

Wide width cowboy boots are available in all brands, colors, styles, designs, and patterns. They are generally made from cowhide leather. Exotic skins of alligator, ostrich, lizard, eel, cobra, python, anteater, and kangaroo are also used to make wide width boots. These boots are usually high heeled with high shafts. There is no lacing in cowboy boots. There are hand trimmed and hand sewn wide width boots, made by expert boot makers. The boots can have fancy embroidery work. Gold, precious stones or diamonds are at times embedded in boots. The boot toes vary in cuts, which may be pointed, boxy or rounded.

One of the ways to get wide width cowboy boots is to shop at the nearest store that sells boots. Then, find the rack with boots that fit your size and keep on trying various available boots until you get an appropriate boot. You can also get wide width boots through online stores.

Sometimes it is difficult to get wide width cowboy boots for women. This is because of the fact that most women have a medium foot width. Not all stores have wide width boots. In such cases, these boots can be custom made or specially ordered according to the requirement. Customers can get the boots of preferred widths and sizes. They can specify designs while stitching and select sole according to their choices. These custom made boots are an ideal way to represent individual styles and tastes.

Cowboy Boots - Tips to Help Choose the Right Pair for You

!: Cowboy Boots - Tips to Help Choose the Right Pair for You

Cowboy boots were first developed to ensure that cowboys stayed safe when riding and working. The modern cowboy boot originates from various other styles including the Wellington boot. To begin with, this was a straight plain leather boot with one-inch heels. However, cowboys also wore Hessian boots. These had a v-cut in the front and hanging in the v was a silk or leather tassel.

Since then cowboy boots have evolved and become influenced by European cavalier styles of boot, which were made of better leather and had a higher heel. Also, the toes of these boots were squared or rounded and this stayed the same until around the 1950's.

Around 1920-1930 cowboy boots evolved to not only to be used to work in, but also as a fashion item. This was due to the increase in movies and radio shows, which were based upon the Wild West as well as rodeo's becoming a popular form of entertainment in the 1950's. Now, girls everywhere are wearing cowboy boots as a fun, flirty, and feminine way to dress up their outfit.

Cowboy boots are now such a fashion item that the colors, designs follow any styles that have been made popular in films and by celebrities. These days, there are all kinds of boots available from dressy, to distressed, stiletto heel to one-inch heel. There are all sorts of colors available and now boot makers are even adding studs, rhinestones, and precious stones. If you want, you may also choose your cowboy boots online and have them custom made.

With this increase in the popularity of cowboy boots, they are now a major fashion item that you can own and Western theme fashion is making a bit hit at the present time. The key to this is that cowboy boots are so versatile. You can wear them when dressing down in your favorite old pair of jeans. Or go for the super sexy look by teaming your boots with a hot denim mini-skirt and little sexy cami. Another great thing about cowboy boots is that anyone can wear them.

Since there are so many different pairs of boots for you to choose from, it is important to understand how to choose the right pair for you. So we have collected some handy hints and tips.

1) You should always choose a pair made out of soft and genuine leather

2) Think about what sort of shank you want. Either a steel shank for support or no shank for flexibility

3) If you want them to dance in, then you may not want to go for a pair with a high heel

4) Try the boots on before you have to buy. It is vital that they are snug, with enough support and room for movement of your toes

5) To get a pair of boots that feel custom made, invest in a molded footbed. This will give lots of support and cushioning.

Frye Carson Pull on Boot - What Women Want in Western Boots, Sizing Tips

!: Frye Carson Pull on Boot - What Women Want in Western Boots, Sizing Tips

Recently  I took note of a rather hot trend forming in the Frye Boots collection for the Frye Carson Pull On boot for women. Of all the boots in the Carson collection, this boot is more specifically looked for by women than any other.

Why would they be so popular?  There are a number of reasons women love this particular "Pull On" style from Frye - here are some reasons that you may want to purchase them for yourself:

Comfort and Fit - This point comes up in reviews more than any other single point.  They are lightweight (especially for a western style boot), and their vintage leather is extremely soft and easy to wear - not only for the upper part of the boot, but they are known to be flexible about the foot and toe area, helping them to conform easily to the size and shape of feet, even when they are fitting a bit snugly.

Looks - This is sort of a given, and when you see these boots you will know why.  They basically are a western boot style, with a tapered but rounded toe - just the right amount of "cowboy" look for many women's tastes.  They are also available in some fun colors ranging anywhere from traditional brown shades and black to bright red and a gorgeous shade of blue that will definitely stand out among any crowd!  The top of the boots can be worn a bit slouchy, or even cuffed due to the softness of the leather.

Sizing Tip:  Per consumer reviews, these boots may fit slightly larger than your normal size.  For example, for a woman who wears a size 8, these boots might fit better at a size 7 ½.  Also, if you have a rather narrow foot you might want to consult the merchant you choose to buy the boot from on which size to purchase.

If you are on the hunt for an absolutely gorgeous western boot for women that fits your needs for comfort and style, the Women's Frye Carson Pull On Boot will likely be right up your alley!

Mexican Cowboy Boots

!: Mexican Cowboy Boots

The history of Mexican cowboy boots dates back to the 1800's. They appear nice, and it feels great to wear them. Boots are an important item for cowboys. The Mexican cowboys started wearing them from the beginning of the year 1800. At that time boots used were short and flat-heeled. These boots did not meet all the requirements of the cowboy profession. Later on the Mexican cowboys started using high heeled boots.

Mexican cowboy boots are made from exotic animal skins such as ostrich, armadillo, bull, and lizard hide. It is obtained in different models, which include flat and high heeled, fancy, and authentic vintage. The boots differ in sizes and widths. It comes in different color combinations as well. There are boots for men, women, and children.

Mexican cowboy boots are generally high or low cut models. Some boots come with short and flat toe caps. Some boots have silver pointed toes. Boots with high heel and pointed toes are specially made for horse riding, as cowboys spend a lot of time in saddles. The boots have handcrafted and hand stitched details. There can be elaborate designs on boots. Some Mexican boots feature embroidery work on shafts and some others have great stitching on shafts. Some boots even represent musical themes. The boots come with pictures including horse heads in the front. Mexican boots do not have lacing, but they may have lace like trims.

Mexican cowboy boots are used by modern people because of their unique designs and styles. They have different price ranges depending on models and sizes. Type and quality of animal skin is an important factor in determining boot prices. Compared to American made boots, Mexican cowboy boots are a little costlier but at times you can get them at the same price range.
